RECYCLING WOOD WASTE INTO SUSTAINABLE WOOD CHIPS

As part of our commitment to sustainability, OSK Construction actively reduces construction waste by recycling wood through innovative practices. Instead of sending discarded timber to landfills, we repurpose materials such as pallets, crates, and plywood using industrial wood chippers, transforming them into reusable wood chips.

These wood chips are then incorporated into our projects for landscaping, ground cover, and walkways. Beyond enhancing aesthetic appeal, they deliver key environmental benefits such as controlling erosion, reducing surface mud, and serving as organic mulch. When applied to soil, mulch helps retain moisture, improve fertility, suppress weed growth, and regulate temperature, contributing to healthier and more sustainable ecosystems across our developments.

Our Property Development and Construction Divisions work closely to ensure the successful implementation of a comprehensive waste management plan and effective site planning mechanisms. We strictly adhere to waste minimization principles throughout the entire lifecycle of our development projects. To support this, we periodically review our waste monitoring and recording protocols to ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance during construction.

Waste materials are categorized and separated on-site as they are produced, such as metals, wood, concrete, and domestic waste, to facilitate more efficient recycling. Separate roll-on roll-off (RORO) bins are provided for different types of construction waste. Moving forward, the Division plans to further reduce packaging waste by opting for bulk purchases and encouraging suppliers to adopt minimal packaging.
